How Channa van Leijsen experienced the 22th of January
Today was all about NIA for me. I don’t know exactly how it has been for the other groups, but I have been at their office a lot today.
NIA stands for the National Irrigation Association and it’s one of the main actors in the building of the dam. We (Renkse, Merlijn and I) went to their office in Cabagan really early this morning, because we understood that NIA had some concerns about our intensions based on an interview that they had with one of the groups the day before. So, a bit rushed and nervous we went there this morning and asked for a meeting with the main engineer. After almost an hour he arrived there from Tumauini and was willing to talk to us.
